You’re
familiar with WACC by now, but what is WACC?
WACC stands for Wollondilly Anglican Community Church. We meet
each Sunday at 9am at Wollondilly Anglican College. Our service
takes a fresh and dynamic approach and is geared towars families
and young people. Morning tea follows straight after where we
catch up and build relationships.
Most Sundays we have Kids’ Church at the
same time, where pre-school and school age children go into the
Year 5-6 classroom with two leaders to do their own church program.
This generally some awesome, action packed activities and storied
geared for young people.
What
is important to us at WACC?
• Families are important to us, so we make
sure we have something for all ages. As well as our Kids’
Church program, we have a family service once a month and on special
days, like Mothers’ Day, where we try to involve everyone.
At Kid’s Church we aim to have the children actively developing
their faith together at all times.
• Relationships are important to us, so
we take time to get to know each other better each time we meet.
We generally have a time of welcome at the start of each service
where we share where we’re at. We also have a regular “testimony
time” where people volunteer to share their faith journey
with the church. Morning tea after the service is also an important
time for us to catch up together.
• Active participation is important to
us. We want everyone to be involved in a way they feel comfortable
with and really enjoy, whether in planning social activities,
Kids’ Church, leading worship, doing morning tea, setting
up or anything else.
• Sharing our faith with others is important,
so we look for opportunities to make connections with the WAC
community and with others in the Wollondilly area. We run Alpha
courses, specifically designed for people who are questioning
what they believe and wanting to find out more about Christianity
in no-pressure environment.
• Connect Groups are important to us because
we believe they give us a chance to get to know each other at
a deeper level than we can on a Sunday. They also give us a chance
to grow in faith together. We encourage everyone to join a home
group, and try to make it as convenient as possible for those
with families.
• Overseas and local missions are important
to us. We regularly raise money for individuals involved in humanitarian
relief and evangelistic missions in Australia and overseas.
